“We forgive those who consider us their enemies.” Remembering Christian Peacemaker Teams’ Tom Fox

September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows is deeply saddened by the news of the death of Christian Peacemaker Teams’ Tom Fox, a man whose only goal was to bring peace and reconciliation to the beleaguered people of Iraq. We extend our condolences to his family for the loss of a loved one so dedicated and committed to peace. As the number of civilian casualties mounts, we are brought again to the words of Martin Luther King: "Wars make poor chisels for carving out peaceful tomorrows." As we mourn Tom Fox’s death, let us also learn from his conviction, his dedication to a greater good, and his willingness to remain human in the face of the inhumanity of terrorism, violence and war.
