#NoBanNoWallNoRaids

MAY 2017

OUR WORK:

The Forgiveness Project: On April 19, PT members, Andrea LeBlanc and Loretta Filipov, led a discussion about Forgiveness at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. The program was created in connection with the F Word Exhibit.

Block War Funding! September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows partnered with other NGOs to help spread the word about a petition to Congress to block the use of any U.S. taxpayer funds for continuing warfare, directly or by proxy, in Syria. CLICK HERE to sign the petition and share it widely within your network of friends.

En Nombre De Nuestro Hijo in Colombia!
The Spanish language version of In Our Son’s Name was shown at the Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival as well as in Colombia, at the Autonomous University of Cali and the University of Cauca in Popayán. The film is especially relevant for Colombia at this time as the former guerilla forces are laying down their arms and being re-integrated into society. This is quite controversial, as many Colombians are looking for retribution for the many years of armed conflict, but the students who spoke out after the screening want peace and reconciliation, and En Nombre De Nuestro Hijo gave them an example to consider. Please e-mail inoursonsname@att.net with any additional questions.

Sanctuary Cities and States: PT members joined several rallies to protect immigrant rights and promote Sanctuary Cities and States. We value immigrants as vital contributors to secure vibrant communities. It is the fear and hatred that is being fomented that truly puts us all at risk and needs to be combated. Join efforts in your states and countries!
