Our Condolences to the Boston Marathon Victims and Survivors

April 21, 2013

Members of September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows send our deepest condolences to the families of those killed and our sincerest hopes for healing to all those injured in body and spirit in the tragic bombings during the Boston Marathon and its aftermath this past Monday. News of the events made us all immediately heartsick, knowing entirely too well the pain and sorrow that had been inflicted on innocent people.

It is our fervent hope that fear and outrage will not result in acts of revenge that will only inflict more pain and suffering, perpetuating the cycle of violence. Neither hatred nor despair will help solve the issues facing our society. We have the choice, now as always, to seek to understand what motivated this act and to find nonviolent, life affirming ways to prevent further violence.
