Nelson Mandela

September Eleventh Families for Peaceful Tomorrows is saddened by the loss of Nelson Mandela. We will continue to be guided by his legacy which will live on in us and through generations to come.

He taught us that even the most cruel and dire circumstances cannot extinguish hope. To the wonder of the world, he demonstrated the power of reconciliation. Humanity will prevail so long as freedom is cherished and extended to all regardless of race or gender. The life of “Mandiba” shows us that one solitary life lived well can ignite the best in countless others.

We mourn today, but in President Mandela’s honor, we will not give up hope for our world or for one another. One day we will all live in peace, bound by justice, working for our common good.

“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others” Nelson Mandela…
