July 2012

Several PT members will be consulting with staff at the New York ACLU in mid July to discuss the upcoming motions and trial of the five men at Guantanamo accused of plotting the 9-11 attacks. If you are not on the list called guantanamo@lists.peacefultomorrows.org yet, please contact the list’s moderator Colleen Kelly to be in the loop.

Syria: PT members posted a statement on the PT website and facebook regarding the increasing violence in Syria.

“Members of Peaceful Tomorrows are anguished by the escalating violence in Syria and its devastating consequences for the people of Syria. We join our voices with others calling for:

  • an immediate ceasefire
  • an end to the shipment of arms and military supplies to Syria
  • immediate and safe access by humanitarian aid agencies to all Syrian civilians
  • urgent negotiations for a peaceful resolution in the interests of the people of Syria.”
