Our innovative community event “A Healing Conversation to End a Culture of Violence and Intolerance,” held four years ago, was in keeping with our ongoing efforts to bridge the gaps of cultural misunderstandings and promote peace.
Keeping in line with that mission, we humbly request your attendance to our upcoming event, “WE ARE ONE: Unifying a Country Divided” further pushing the conversation forward regarding gun violence, religious and racial intolerance, and immigration concerns.
Among our speakers is Reverend Sharon Risher, who has been speaking out against gun violence after the Charleston, SC shooting at the Mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on June 17, 2015 resulted in the death of her mother and fellow parishioners. We will also hear Imam Al-Hajj Talib ‘Abdur-Rashid speak. The Imam is the spiritual and religious leader of the Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood in Harlem, NY. Our distinguished panelists will all be giving pertinent information to ensure all attendees leave with more detailed awareness of the aforementioned areas of discussion.
We invite you to join us and we ask that you share this information with those whom you feel would be best served. The continued support of other groups over the years has strengthened our position and allowed us to branch out to take our message of peace and nonviolence directly to the world. We look forward to welcoming you.
