Daniel Pearl Kidnapping

While serving as the South Asia Bureau Chief for the Wall Street Journal, Daniel Pearl traveled to Pakistan to investigate a lead. On January 23, 2002, he was abducted in Karachi, Pakistan and subsequently beheaded by his captors.
