9/11 Family Advocate Beverly Eckert a Passenger in Buffalo Airliner Crash

Peaceful Tomorrows extends our heartfelt condolences to the family of Beverly Eckert, tragically killed in the Buffalo plane crash on Thursday, February 12th, and to all the families who have lost loved ones in this disaster. Beverly’s husband, Sean Rooney, was killed in the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001.

Ms. Eckert was a dear friend and ally of Peaceful Tomorrows and many of our members.  Co-chairwoman of Voices of Sept. 11, Beverly was a truly lovely, intelligent and kind woman, engaged in making the world a better place. Just one week ago she took part in a meeting of 9/11 family members with President Obama. Ms. Eckert was there to give her support to the president’s policy to close Guantanamo prison. Her commitment to community service included working with Habitat for Humanity as well as assisting teachers in a local school with 2nd graders. She was also instrumental in the creation of the 9/11 Commission, and was a member of the 9/11 Families for the WMD Commission.

Beverly was a loving and giving person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
