The Peace Alliance
The Peace Alliance is a nonpartisan citizen action organization representing a growing constituency for peace. A 501(c)4 organization established in May 2004, our mission is to empower civic activism for a culture of peace. Our vision is a future in which the practical programs and principles of peacebuilding are the bedrock of our personal, national and global interest and investment. Our goal is to take the field of peacebuilding from the margins of the political and societal dialogue and bring it to its rightful place: Central to our policymaking, investment and understanding. We achieve this primarily through a massive public education, outreach and citizen lobbying effort. Our current focus is the campaign for a cabinet-level U.S. Department of Peace.

The Iraq Coalition Casualty Count
“One of the things that is distressing about the war on Iraq is our government's silence regarding casualties, even the casualties of our own soldiers. They release individual notices of troop deaths, but nowhere do they tally up those notices in a public place. Our website is an attempt to change that. The data there has been meticulously researched ... and is kept in many different ways so as to assist other researchers in finding answers to their questions.”

EPIC
Founded in 1998, the Education for Peace in Iraq Center (EPIC) works to promote peace and development in Iraq through educational programs, policy change and advocacy initiatives. With the support of more than 30,000 members across the country, EPIC moves beyond the headlines to inform policymakers, the media and concerned citizens about what is really happening on the ground in Iraq. Almost four years after the arrival of U.S. and coalition forces, the war in Iraq has become the deadliest conflict in the 21st Century. EPIC is working to end armed conflict and support Iraqi efforts to advance peace and development, educating concerned citizens about organizations and community-based initiatives inside Iraq that are bringing desperately needed relief and development to tens of millions of people affected by the war.
